I do about 12 inches deep but you can do as little as 6 inches. It will just compost faster.

LOL... you can buy bags of composted chicken/ cow manures at big box store. No shoveling.

lol! I shoveled it into buckets and put the buckets in the backseat I enjoyed the smell, she didn't. And she never comes with me to pick up manure anymore. LOL

I got my first layer (20) of cinder blocks today and my Jeep did not like it.
