Thank you. My house growing up had a HUGE California oak, couple hundred years old, for sure. I never noticed any blossoms, but I was a kid, so who knows.

I have a silk oak at my current home, and I have lived here over twenty years. It drops a lot of leaves, year-round. A couple of years ago, it sprouted some weird flowers (reddish) - had never seen them before or since.

They look just like the Bradford Pears I had in my backyard. Sadly they both succumbed to Fire Blight and had to go. Do the trees have a unique smell? Bradfords have a smell that many people find unpleasant.

Definitely looks like Pear trees. Not an oak. Close up of the leaves will help
