Picked up a few tomato plants at Home Depot over the weekend. I noticed a few days after planting that two of them have some spots on them. Is this some sort of disease? Or could it just be related to the stress of transplanting? Should I pull these out and get some new ones before they grow any more?

Thanks!

Looks like leaf burn, probably from moving it into the sun too suddenly. Was it sheltered from the sun a Home Depot (ex on a lower rack)? It should recover though. And new plants will probably have the same problem if you don't harden them off to sunlight properly.

I agree, mine stayed in the shade except for a couple of hours in the morning for several days before I planted them in the ground.

Yup, looks like sun scold to me. I used to take 1 week adjusting them to outside light and elements. Now I do it slowly for 2 weeks. Was probably shaded at Home Cheapo and wasn't used to the full sun yet.

Should recover with new growth if soil is good, don't worry.

Leaf burn from water/dew on the leaves being in direct sun.

Thanks everyone. Plants seem to be doing ok. Although already within the first week, an animal decided to dig random holes all over the place for no apparent reason.
