In the 20's at night. Sill picking collards and broccoli. Still have petunias alive in protected places!

To the contrary- Montana is a great place to live because of the winters!

We didn't pull dead veggie plants entirely. Taking a tip from wheat farmers in eastern Montana- a lot of them leave their wheat stubble at a foot or more to hold the snow in the field. Last night we had -18 air temps and 25mph winds and snow (about -35 or lower wind chill). The snow stayed pretty put in the garden- but you can see the drifting outside the garden.

We love winter- snowshoeing, ice fishing, skiing. A few years ago I went goose and duck hunting with my friends and it was -36 when we started. That was something!

All I got was about 1.5" of snow. But it was blowing very hard. The temperature got down to -5 and it is now 5. It will only get into the mid teens today. I didn't sign up for this when moving from South Louisiana about 2 years ago.
