I have to say, if I was living there where you're getting those record high temperatures at this time of year I would be really, really worried about the extreme threats they foretell for the typically warmer season months. I'd be making some major emergency survival preparations with stocked supplies and changes of gardening plans and methods right NOW while I still can and while essential supplies are still available.

On the contrary, it's actually an awesome area for the weather as you get four different seasons. Some winters tend to be warmer than other and some summers tend to be cooler than some. So if you don't like one of the seasons, all you have to do is give it a couple months and it'll soon change.
