I've got these growing all over my yard. They pop'd up this spring when the forsythia was blooming. I left a few of them in the bed at the front of the house just to see what they would do. Any ideas what it is?

This morning, while watering, I found a single plant with a white/light purple flower instead of blue. I found two that have variegated leaves instead of solid green.

And then, there's this plant. The city workers come through a couple times a year and cut back the overgrowth along the street. This has come up and regrown in only a couple months. It has reddish green branches, small white flowers that form clusters, and leaves that resemble a pyracanthus.

The first is Commelina communis, Asiatic Dayflower, a member of the Spiderwort Family.

I don't recognize the last one.

Thank you. I thought it looked like spiderwort. I wasn't sure.

My elderly mother calls the blue a "wild wanderin' Jew" too. She knows the layman name for tons of wild flowers. I have found that I can't find clerks at nurseries that recognize them unless they are over 75! lol!

Her name is Hilda. She knows almost everything I've asked her about. I've yet to take either of these in to her.
