Still no customers at my feeders, had a few then cold rainy weather moved in. We are finally hitting 80 degree mark, so hoping to see them return soon.
Same here. I don't think they came to my feeder until late in June last year, but I thought they might come earlier this year. I need to go out and change the sugar water. I bought a cestrum plant yesterday, they're supposed to like that.
Year 2007 was our bonus year for hummers and when the migrants came through I almost went broke buying sugar. '08 & '09 not so good but had some (less during migration than '07), and this year I think we have two pair with the males showing up in March. It's a blast
I bought a hummingbird costume and am going to flit around the feeder - think that will help? 'Yum - best feeder in town~~"
So glad you figured out the 'secret' to attracting hummers to your feeders. If you are successful will you be going on tour headed to broadway perhaps?
Are you having any success? Imagining that is just too funny.
My crowds have thinned out in the past couple of days. I haven't had to refill feeders in 2 days. I guess that group has moved on.
Ha! Yours have fallen in love - with me!!!! (OK, I lied) No hummers yet - put up a sign - "Best hummingbird diner in town!!"
