I saw a few over the weekend, both male and female. I wish I could put little tracking collars on them, so I know where they go and why I am not seeing as many as I was. LOL

Not a single one sighted in my area of Greenville, SC. I put out the feeders and then dump them out cause there is no activity.

We see them all the time here, in fact I've noticed that they sometimes get aggressive with each other while feeding.

It does seem odd to me. I moved to this house 4 years ago, maybe a little more. First year I had tons of hummingbirds. Second year, same thing. Last year I had quite a lot less (fewer?) and this year I've seen two. Seems by now they should be in full swing here.

Makes me sad.

We have a lot of activity again. I can't figure out where they were for that week or so. Maybe feeding babies with insects? But I would think they would have needed some quick energy? Hmmm.

Yay! As an Easterner, I would have assumed you have them pretty much year-round in those locales. I guess I would have been wrong!

Hmm, the disappearing act does seem likely related to nesting:

Wild Birds Unlimited: Where have my Hummingbirds gone?

disappear

The Hummingbird Forum: Hummers suddenly disappear (last post by Ron most relevant to me, as I don't live far from Delaware)
