It's been so cold here in the mornings! I have felt so sorry for the little hummingbirds. One morning it was 39 degrees, and the last 2 mornings were 42 degrees. Brrrr! It does warm up a bit in the afternoon, but it is definitely colder than the little guys are used to. They seem to be doing OK, though.
There was a lull in visitors this week until today.
We had a BIG spring snowstorm yesterday (30" at my house). There were a few little hardy hummers hitting the one feeder that wasn't covered in snow. At dusk I felt so bad for the few circling around the other one that I shoveled the porch steps and managed to knock the snow off the other feeder. At dusk I had 4 at the snowy feeder and a full house (6) at the feeder that's protected from the weather.
It has been busy at both feeders today. The temperature both days has been hovering around 30. The forecast calls for sunshine tomorrow and more normal warmer temps all week.

Wow! I am surprised the hummer can survive at temps that low! 30" inches of snow in May... oh, my.
We've had hummers for several weeks. It seems like we have fewer than we usually see at this time of year.
At long last! Saw my first one on the feeder yesterday woo hoo finally!
