John, that article assumes the person doing the planting is in the same zone as Dallas TX. (He said the last frost is expected in Mid-November....)


Its too late in many parts of the country for the veggies he's talking about.

Yep, I'm in Wyoming. I've been in Europe for six weeks and just got back to the states last Tuesday. I wanted to get in some fall tomatoes in my raised bed for fall tomatoes, but there are no tomato (or any other type of veggie or herb) plants to be found within a 100 mile radius of my town.

I'm in north central Montana and when I first read this I started to laugh out loud saying "Yea right "! Then I noticed what state the article was from !
