I love to see the creative ideas people come up with during the fall using straw, pumpkins, mums etc. in their yards/porches. I thought if I started a thread, some people would hopefully share some photos of their hard work.

Here's the front of our house in the Fall. I've planted a variety of perenials so I have color almost year round. I love mums! The mini pumpkins by the front door are from the garden and replace the coleus I have there during the summer. We've all ready had our first frost, so the planters don't look as colorful as they typically do, but the Purple Fountain Grass makes up for it.

Here's the back. Sorry the pics are so big. I did the small size....if I do tiny, it's too small to see.

Walt Disney World is notorious for decorating with gardens. They cheat, of course. When Disney uses alternating white and red poinsettias to make a Mickey head in the garden bed, the plants are still in their pots below a light layer of mulch so they look like they are planted and grew that way. Very few of the plants at Disney have been where they are displayed for more than 3 months at a time. You can do the same at home with raised bed, straw and some mulching.
