I have built a couple of Wasp traps using Empty Soda Bottles. How to Make a Wasp Trap - wikiHow How ever I can not figure out where or how to put the bait. Has anyone built one and where did you put the bait?

I have asked the question before and got no answers. Maybe they don't work!

I think the web site you posted pretty much covers it. They hung theirs from a tree. You might try a tree or from the eaves of the house.

Thanks Barking Spider but I think you misunderstood my question...

I am trying to find out WHERE I should HANG the BAIT on the inside of the trap.

Looking at the instructions, it looks like you put it down the spout into the base, but not let it touch the neck of the bottle that you put in upside down.
The bait sits in the bottom. You can see it in one of the photos

I see what your saying in Pic #4... So is the bait "in" the liquid?

Yes it seems that step #4 covers what you can use for bait and tells you to put it in the bottom before you put the two pieces together. If you are just going to use liquid, then you can pour it in. If you are going to use meat or smashed grapes, then add it before you put the two pieces together.

I bet a piece of raw chicken will get pretty ripe in a short time. That may attract them.

Oh ok so I guess I been reading it wrong. I bait with no water or I can use water with something like liquid soap added... I was thinking that I baited AND added liquid (so the little suckers would drown) and I couldn't figure out where to put the bait because of the liquid in there. So I use either liquid or bait and not both...... Now do I see it right?

I am afraid to ask but where did you get Barking Spider as a nic name? ha ha ha

It's from my old backpacking friends. It was a standing joke, because late at night, in the tent, we would hear those things all the time. It was the only explanation we got - "must be barking spiders".
