I don't usully get frost here but this last winter we saw a few days of it and my Hibiscuis plants/bushes don't look so hot. Is there anything I can do to help them along?? I have lots of other flowers that got frost damage too but they are starting new growths already and look to be fine from it. I haven't clipped a branch on the Hibsicuis' yet to see how far the damage is. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you wait a few days after the freeze and then take a close look at the stems of you hibiscus, you should be able to tell how far back they froze. The bark will begin to come loose. You can scratch at it a little and if it peels away black, it's dead. Tight and green; it's alive.

Normally, what I do with hibiscus, since I'm from a place where it does freeze a bit every year, I cut them back annually to about 8" to a foot tall, and then store them in the garage out of the way for the winter. Occasionally I water them, when they look dry, maybe every 10 days or so.

All that is to say, that if you're not sure how dead the hibiscus are, you won't hurt them in the least by cutting them back severely. It will make them fuller in the long run. After you cut them back, feed them weekly with some liquid blue food and they'll let you if they're completely gone or not.
