FACT: The hops plant, which contains the most powerful phytoestrogen ever identified, combats menopausal complaints including hot flash and shows promise in protecting against bone loss and heart disease. Yes, hops are used in beer.
As Boomers are aging this could be a very good crop to be growing. Right now it says the areas where crops are grown are: Hallertau Valley in Germany (largest hop-growing area), Yakima, Washington and Willamette, Oregon) valleys in the United States.
Currently almost all the harvested hops are used in beer making.
I'd be curious to know if any other areas of the US are doing well growing hops. Suzanne Sommers was on Oprah promoting Bio-identical hormones. She uses them instead of pharmaceuticals and have you all seen a close up of her lately? She is 62 and gorgeous!!
