Faabala, what a faaabulous garden! ;-) Thank you so much for posting that video! I'm still waiting to hear if my purchase of a house on close to 1/3 acre is going to go through - this would be a "huge" lot for this city girl and I'm so anxious to start a big garden! Right now I have a "garden" in ceramic pots on the patio...

The tomato plants I thought I'd over-exposed to the sun and wind during hardening off are doing GREAT, yay!

We continue the experiment with three tomato plants in the SFG and a bunch (up to seventeen - I need to count) in a raised bed filled with great soil from a well-developed country garden patch (still lots of organic material in there - lots of small woody pieces). Note that I did amend that soil with some store-bought Black Cow and Black Hen, about the same ratio we added to the SFG.

We had three tiny little transplants left. I was going to compost them but Hubby insisted we give them a chance. We planted them in our existing yard soil (mostly clay) amended with some store-bought compost. They look a bit sad . But they haven't died.

So far, the SFG plants are way behind the others in growth, but they were transplanted several days later. Even so, the plants in the other raised bed are really looking happy. We have to get our trellis system in!

I am excited to report that I have some nice little green cherry tomatoes and many flowers on the Roma and Better Boy plants. My pepper and eggplant are growing nicely and look like they are thinking about flowering. I'm also very close to picking squash, AND the lettuce has done wonderfully planted around the squash. As the temperatures are reaching the mid 80's the squash are starting to get big enough to offer the lettuce some shade. I'll see how long I can keep that going.

I do have a few brown spots on two of the leaves of my zucchini plant. The rest of the plant looks fantastic and I have a few baby zucchini. Do I cut off the 2 leaves with spots or just keep an eye on the plants?

I have had a few tomato leaves that were starting to curl and the edges turn brown and I pinched them off. I have Serenade spray and srayed them down to ward off a variety of fungus and the rest of the plants look fantastic. I really don't know if that was the right thing to do, but since doing that the plant has grown, has put out many flowers, and I'm starting to see fruit.

Noticed a second tomato on my Snowberry Tomato plant. And it's still living in my front window because we had some cold rainy weather of late! Aaaaggg! I must find the time to get it into my SFG now that the weather has become nicer! Does anyone know if moving it at this late time will cause it to lose those two itty bitty tomatoes? What can I do to get the best success?

aren't you special???

seriously, where do you live? Here in NWA I am getting a few flowers on my tomatoes, but I don't expect to pick anything for about 6 weeks, maybe longer. My beans are going crazy, again, certainly none yet.. the only thing we have had so far is some romaine, but now the tomato plants are covering it, so I think we will get one more meal out of it..Next year I am not going to bother with anything like lettuce..

Enjoy all your wonderful fruit...

Nita

Not all my squares are filled but here are the beds so far. I don't think the heat is helping the peas but I still hope to get some. I also included a pic of the roses and potted flowers in the front. They have been so beautiful this year.

I planted my garden early because I went to NY for a week. Needless to say, over Mother's Day my garden froze and I lost most of my tomatoes

I re-planted new tomatoes and marigolds. I now have carrots, cucumbers, radishes, lettuce, a zucchini plant, squash plants, bush beans, pole beans, and new tomatoes planted.

I am a little nervous about the tomatoes again because we have had heavy rain for the past 4 days. Last year the tomatoes here got blight from all of the rain.

If I can't boast here, then my husband won't be able to live with me!

I live in NC and this is the first time I've had an in ground garden - last year I had my first garden in containers. I've really expected for various woodland creatures to eat everything that managed to grow.

Did you move it yet? A couple of weeks ago I transplanted a couple of plants with little tomatoes and they were fine; the tomatoes didn't fall off.

Put it outside under the tree today. Been in the window sill with the window open for a few days. Going to put it in the bed tomorrow. So far, so good!
