NMNita, we love the flowers of the Okra, so go ahead and grow it anyway.
Of course, we do have the space to do so, know some people may not.
Thank You TerraDown.....I got your DM on City Data in response to my communication. I will be watching for the seeds/fruit.

Congratulations.....I understand the feeling. I am eager to get over to my garden today to see if the tomato that had started to turn color yesterday....has made any more progress. We had a good rain yesterday afternoon...that should help the gardens.

I was thinking about whether we had a blossoms yet. I haven't checked this week; been busy and we had some rain, but am going to check today. We leave for a weeks vacation next Tues. I can imagine how the garden will grow that week now that our nights are warming up.

I checked my tomatoes yesterday.....several are good size and two are beginning to color. I moved my "cubano" (cuban oregano) to a more sunny location....as it had been totally covered by pineapple sage plant that "wants it all" at least space wise.

I really dont use the pineapple sage...but it is a truly beauriful plant and the bees love it and everyone who passes by comments on how pretty it is. For those reasons alone.....it is worth the space. Especially since I planted it in a "demonstration bed" not one of the ones I rented. I dont know how it will fare once summer sets in.....right now it is impressive.

I must say this . I have never seen anything keep the bugs away like growing basil in the same bucket as the tomatoes . the basil smells so good too. my squash has buds on them now too so I venture to say I might have ripe squash along with ripe tomatoes and if so I am going to get some canning jars and can up some tomatoes . And can up some squash as well . I might send a few jars to the kids .

Your post reminded me of a song called "Canned Goods" "....taste a little of the summer; my grandma put it all in jars." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0rmS1hbPoU
