some folks swear hair, pee and other repellents work just fine for them and others say none of those items repel deer. I myself am saving for a really T A L L fence. I was talking on the phone to the Bobbex man about how his product didn't work as well as I wanted. He is gonna send me a stronger product but he told me he always closes his presentations with this statement
"But remember, even humans will eat humans if they are hungry enough."

but it gets the point across that if deer are hungry enough they will chomp right thru cayenne pepper, hair, pee and anything else. Remember they also must rely on plants for their moisture intake. but we obsessive compulsive gardeners will keep on trying as we refuse to be defeated.

They were eating my hibiscus trees and other plants, unless rabbits were getting those. I used mothballs for a couple weeks and that worked. They never came back nor the rabbits.

It's cheaper and less work if you buy them in brick size. Mine were half the length of a red house brick and just as thick. Set them on a rock with a rock on top to keep them out of the rain, tin can with big holes in the sides, etc. If there's something they regularly munch on you could try it around there first to make sure this works for you.
