Thinking of buying one. Have a huge area and alot of dandelions and don't want to use poison. Only real concern I have is my bad right elbow, will this thing work best or is their another tool to consider indispensible for dandelion removal? Thanks!
I've used a similar tool. It does not "get the root out every time" it just snaps the dandelion off right below ground level as far the gripper penetrates. It's an ok tool.
Dandelions especially love to grow where they can send their root down under the sidewalk or patio or in some kind of crack where you can never get it out. No tool works on those wily weeds, you've gotta spray them with Roundup.
No spray for me. I bought the thing and returned it right away, got a dandelion weeder instead, like a forked flathead screwdriver. I have so many dandelions it isn't funny. Yes, too many to eat. My place was abandoned for years.
Yes, I have one and have been fine with it. Much easier to use in a large area instead of having to stoop over or crawl along the yard trying to get rid of weeds. I have carpel tunnel and it does not bother me at all. My hand might get sore a little but that is it if I have a LOT to do. It does get the root out if you work it right. When I've used it I've been able to get rid of those weeds for good without having to spray. We also get johnson grass and the roots on that stuff are a MAJOR PITA to get to. This weed hound is the only thing that can get all of it. For the money it has been WELL worth it.
