It's on sale now and I understand it's been improved since last version. Anybody ever use it and how did it work. I'm very experienced garxdener but still always need help. would love to find something you just stick in the ground and it would tell you soil ph, which plant to plant, which one not to plant and ones that are deer resistent.

My wife bought one a few months ago.(She's a "gadgetphile") I don't know if there's been a version upgrade since then but the one we have doesn't measure soil ph or go into specifics like deer resistance. It does a good job of measuring light levels and soil moisture , does pretty well with its recommendations and even diagnosed a problem with a houseplant we have where I knew the problem and decided to test it. Properly said it had been overwatered, which actually somewhat impressed me

If it did measure soil ph it would be a very good tool but it does have its limitations. It would also be nice if its site had filters for things as specific as deer resistance but unless they've updated in the last couple of months, they don't.

I do think it would be a nice option for beginners though.
