I like to plant trees that grow rapidly and will provide decent shade. Any recommendations? I live in Austin, tx so they will have to tolerate hot summer. Thanks if you can help.
Of the ones on the list I would plant the Pecan, Walnut, or Southern Live Oak. The Southern Live Oak would be good if given enough space. The Pecan can be a messy tree but grow huge. The Walnut drops big ol' nuts so don't put it too close to anything you don't want nuts dropped on. Good luck!
Southern Live Oak and Loblolly pine are a couple my favorites, but the Oak is a slower growing tree.
