We have a mulching mower and occasionally leave the clippings on IF the grass isn't too high. We had a thatch problem once and had to put something on the yard to break the thatch down. Maybe it depends on the area you live in?? In our area I think there must be a secret to how short you cut the grass and how often you mow if you're going to leave the clippings. It sure is faster and easier not having to empty the catcher!!

also please follow the instructions carefully. If it says to put down a certain amount, then put only that amount down. Doubling the amount will NOT give you better results ; probably will do more damage.
good luck
