I've seen products which claim to keep spider webs from forming inside but I'm wondering if such a product exists for outside windows. Our family room windows are covered with spider webs. On the other side is the deck. I've tried moving plants away from the windows and to the railing but still I get lots of spider webs. Any solutions?
Wouldn't the same product work outside as well? I imagine you'd have to reapply after each rainfall though. Other than that, washing one's windows often is the only other thing. Don't know if white vinegar would discourage new webs but it couldn't hurt to try AND will get your windows clean.

Don't know but please don't kill the spiders. The bat population is down due to some fungus disease and the spiders are the only ones to help keep the gnat & mosquito population down
I try not to kill the spiders but I can't say that they have done anything to combat the mosquito population. I have lots of spiders and tons of spider webs, but also an insane amount of mosquitoes. I had thought about putting up a bat house since I have heard that will attract bats but I figure its too late in the season now to make a difference.
Has anyone tried OrangeGuard? I have ant issues as well as the spider webs ( I let the spiders be, I just don't want to keep walking into their webs all around my house and garden - I never know whether the spider is the dangerous kind), and I read good reviews about the use of orange oil. Any thoughts or experience with this?

Gnats & skeeters are out of control in the northeast this year but we lost over 2/3 of the bat population over the winter from some white fungas disease
Every morning I have a huge and I mean huge spider web on my side door....hubbie clears it away because he forgets to duck and walks smack into it..next morning it's back again..lol
we have bat houses and still so many ticks and mosquiotos that I debate bug spray chemicals vs bug bites on my kids. I hate to keep them inside but they both have terrible reactions to bug bites and of course we all know about the dangers of ticks. and who has time to figure out if a spider is a good buy or a bad guy. So I will do whatever I have to do to keep all bugs out of my house and minimize the ones outdoors. Besides--most of my efforts go into keeping the deer, fox and coyote away from us.
