What is a good quality cordless yard trimmer and edger (combo would be nice)for a decent price? What brands or models are good? I don't mind if it is electric or gas. If it is electric, i would hope it can be used for at least an hour fully charged. I see brands like Ryobi and Black & Decker out there along with various others. Please let me know. It is getting to be a pain having to use my old electric edger. Once i get done with that, i'm having to get my old electric trimmer out. The extension cords get tangled up and i have to change my positions quite a bit as my yard is pretty big. Thanks.

If your talking about a sdger and not a string trimmer than I found no good gas powered edgers. the troy built is junk form everyone i knoe who bought one. I only like the blde edgers and that takes power if electric which is hard to get with battery paks. I have a corded balck and deker which I replace my gas edger that has a 11amp motor @ 110Volts that is easy to use and does a good fast jb. Isn't a gas but close in performance.

I've tried a few and the one I love is the...

BLACK & DECKER 18 V Cordless Electric Straight Shaft 12 In. String Trimmer

I can edge and trim by just turning the bottom piece and it edges beautifully. It also does not weigh a ton and the fact that I don't have a cord or have to fill it with gas is a MAJOR plus!! If you were close I would come by and show you how it works but Texas is a bit far for me :-)

We bought almost the same one a couple of weeks ago. Ours does not have a battery but a charger. You just plug it in overnight. Works wonderful and I (female) have no issues holding it for extended time because it is not as heavy.

We bought it at Walmart and paid $59.99 for it. regular price.

Funny - my neighbor just got one of these over the weekend and I was jealously observing her use it
She paid $99 for it. One of the things I like is that it comes with TWO rechargeable batteries, so even if you have a lot to trimming/edging to do, it should last for a complete go-around plus you can start charging the depleted one while working with the second one. And it seemed very easy to use!
Also, her brother commented on the fact that 18V batteries hold their charge well.

I have a Black & Decker Grasshog. Works pretty well. It comes with two rechargable batteriers. Make sure both are at full strength as you will not complete the job with one.
