Greetings everyone

My name is Adam, and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. My USDA is 5a, and you should see what you can do in your area with alittle bit of work,..

I am currently growing, Musa basjoo, sabal minor, Rhapidophyllum hystrix.

we are in southwestern canada and hoping to grow a Musa basjoo would like any info you could give us such as when is the best time to plant and winter care? please reply

hopefull,.

Run a search for info on this variety on the Dave's garden plant database..there should be info on winter care there as well..

This being said,, your best bet is simply experimenting with them once you locate a source for plants.. Good luck

I guess my question is "why would you want to do that?" Enjoy the native flora and fauna.

Also, bugs and plant diseases can be introduced to the area when you transport "foreign" plants to a new area/climate. By forcing other plants in, you could be threatening local plants.
