Please, have any of you planted the new low-mow lawns they've been showing in the magazines.? They look sort of wavy and apparently you only mow them once or twice a year,but I wonder how safe they are to walk on. Looks awfully uneven to me !. Anyone?

Yes, I believe it is called St. Augustine grass.




Just kidding of course, that will turn into a jungle after a couple weeks. I think many people use Zoysia for this purpose. It's not as slow as twice a year, but is the slowest one i know of. A lot of people around here cut it really short and it looks nice, but i wonder if it would have a hard time crowding out weeds.
