romanesca is like green cauliflower, only more nuttier & drier! It's actually very popular & found on many upscale restaurants menus here in LA. The cone nubs are like little fractals (:

Someone brought some to our Master Gardener Holiday luncheon it was very popular. At our next meeting one of the women brought a couple packages of seeds to share.

I do not eat broccoli or cauliflower but am going to try growing it because it is so interesting
We are also going to try growing it this fall at a couple of the schools where we have the Jr MG program.
I think because it is so "alien" looking the kids that don't like veggies will be inspired to give it a try.

I remember my nephew refusing to eat all greens other than brocoli tops because his favorite dinosaur ate trees, and brocoli looked like a tree. Wondering how he'd react to this even as adult now LOL. Scary looking veggies!
