I've been trying to research this on the net and so many gardeners say "if you build it, they will come" about the worms. But is that true of raised bed planters? WIll those little aerating beasts find their way under/over the frame?

What do all the raised-bed planter folks do?

If there is organic matter for them to eat, they will come. Chopped leaves mixed with grass clippings especially draw them. You can mulch with this.....keeps the ground cool and more moist, feeds the soil, and feeds the worms all at the same time.

The worms are not traveling aboveground to get to the dirt in your raised bed, they're coming from the ground below it....unless you put down plastic first, or are building on concrete?

I definitely got worms in my raised beds. I used Black Kow (manure compost) amended with gardening soil as medium. And I had even lined the bottom of the beds with newsprint to prevent weeks. The worms just showed up.
