Full sun ground cover? (growing, Ground Covers, grass, spring)

We have an enormous hillside that needs to be planted. Most of it is in full sun, but we also have an underground spring that runs through part of it. Are there any ground covers that would thrive in these conditions? Most of the ones I've looked at require well-draining soil, but this area stays pretty damp.

Creeping Jenny will grow almost anywhere, but it is invasive.

Switchgrass (Panicum), feather reed grass (Calamagrostis x acutiflora), and soft rush (Juncus) are said to like full sun and to tolerate clay/moist soil. Juncus is the lowest-growing of the 3 at 15-24" high. Don't know if that's too high for you.

Full sun/damp is a tough combination... most ground covers that do well in damp conditions are shade lovers.

Juniper is great for full sun. However, the spring is a variable I have never encountered. Would the rays of the sun help nullify it?

what about new guinea impatients ? those are great and I love them and those are the only impatients that I dont kill . LOL !! they look beautiful when they are in full bloom . good luck with whatever you decide to put in .

I don't know what your climate zone is but what about planting a sunny bog type plant like Japanese Sweet Flag? Or Mountain Mint?

We're in GA. I'm not exaggerating about the hillside being enormous, it's 300' long and about 60' from the bottom to the top. It is also steep, so not very easy to maintain. We're hoping to find something that will spread as a ground cover. We've had juniper before, but all sorts of things would sprout up between them, and it was hard to keep up.

I looked at some Creeping Jenny today, but what I saw was too small to make an impact. How about carpet roses? Might they do the trick?
