I have had this bush in the yard of a house we rented. The owner had no info for us. It's absolutely wonderful! The flowers have a "dried" texture. The scent is heavenly.

We need to find out what it is. Can anyone help?

Looks like a Carolina Spicebush maybe? PlantFiles: Picture #11 of Sweet Shrub, Carolina Allspice, Strawberry Shrub, Bubby Bush, Sweet Betsy, Florida Spice Bush, Flori (Calycanthus floridus)

Yep. Calycanthus floridus. It's a native shrub to the southeast. The fragrance is wonderful.
