I have a pear tree in my yard that was planted a few years ago. I know it is fruit producing because that is why i purchased it. This year is the first year I have seen fruit on it. 2 weeks ago I saw pears and they were still ripening, however, about 5 days ago I noticed there is no sign that any pears existed. We did have a dry spell. Would that have made them completely vanish? there are some leaves that have turned brown, but to my best knowledge the tree is still looking healthy and there does not seem to be any insects. Is this common? I live in northern Illinois near Indiana border.

Believe it or not...animals can take all of the fruit off of a tree. It has happened to me. Hopefully this will be less likely once the tree gets a little bigger.
