I have been putting pieces of fruits like apply and oranges in a large bucket for over 5 months. I live in Houston where it is HOT as hell.

Anyway, I opened the bucket lid and saw the following:

There are worms swimming in there! Is my compost all messed up! What is that brown liquid. It is disgusting.

looks like liquid gold to me. Anything with earthworms is good. Most coompost consists of household scraps, some yard waste like grass and leaves and even some soil.

You may have made a very icky wine or ale if all you have is fermented fruit. I would add it to a real compost pile.

@no kudzu

First thanks for the reply! Actually I am a totally newbie!! This is my actual and my only compost. It consists of left over fruit from my juicer and that is it. How long should I wait so that liquid turns into something solid without worms or any other insects.

PS: I don't drink beer or wine or alcohol!!

I have never seen compost like that, but if it works who cares! Give us an update a few months after you work it into your garden.

@Inthesierras,

There is no way I am touching that stuff with worm like insects inside it! Maybe they will all die and it will turn into brown mulch or something.

LOL Bugs don't bother me. If you work it into the soil, your using a shovel and not actually touching that stuff. I would be too impatient to wait!

@Luvvarkansas

I think you are right! I looked at it again (YUCK!!!) and it does look like maggots.

Is that bad! what should I do? Will this not turn into a fertilizer? I don't even know how and where to throw this crap?

Just throw it in a far corner of the yard, if you can. Or if you live in the city in a small yard, you could always flush it.

Maggots are fly larvae. They will turn into flies. That goop will not turn into fertilizer, but as nokudzu said, it would be fine to add to a real compost pile.

You need to do a little more research on composting, methinks, and try again.

What about adding leaves or something? Can you do that? We don't use worms so I'm not sure what you do. Good luck!
