Any count how many branches of the family tree you've traced to outside North America?

Here are mine:
Mom's side

Tailer: ~1720, Scotland
Ford/ Faure: 1700, France
Dunsmore: ~1800, Ireland
Roy/ LeRoy: 1615, France
McDonald: ~1720, Scotland
Tailer: ~1720, Scotland
Pearcy: ~1730, England
Webber: ~1730, England
Gosser: ~1800, Germany

Dad's side
Morris: 1733, Wales
Feathers: Native America, Cherokee
Scott: ~1670, Scotland
Bray: ~1811, Netherlands
Roberts: ~1760, Wales
Roush: ~1730, Germany
Sehler: ~1730, Germany
Poke: ~1750, Germany
Fullerton: ~1740, Northern Ireland (Scottish)
Thompson: ~1740, Northern Ireland (Scottish)
Blair: ~1700, Northern Ireland (Scottish)

That's 22 for me so far.

I can't be bothered listing them all but the numbers are:
Dad's side: 7 that I've traced back to Europe, 9 unknown or unconfirmed
Mom's side: 18 traced back to Europe, 15 unknown or uncomfirmed

That's 25 total, still searching for or trying to confirm 24. Confirmed nations: Italy, Germany, Norway, England and Ireland.

Basically, two.

One traces back to County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It will probably continue back into Scotland, but we haven't taken it that far.

One traces back to an ancestral castle in northern Germany.

The rest are right here on Turtle Island. First People of America and Canada - Native American Indians. Turtle Island. Legends, Treaties, Clipart.

I know of about 80 verified surnames in the family tree. And all of my dad's family goes immediately back to the British Isles: England and Ireland.

My mom's family:
Her dad, mostly England and a few Scotland and the Netherlands. The Puritans were great record keepers so lots of family names.

Her mom, that's were the variety kicks in: Germany, France, Scotland, Switzerland, and England (can't get away from the English in our family. )

There are very few families were there is not at least a good hunch of where they came from.

In Norway: 2 g-g-g-grandparents, 7 g-g-grandparents, 2 g-grandparents.
In Sweden: 2 g-grandparents

That's everybody. It's pretty easy when the earliest ones were from 1850.

Well, I'm on the other side. My gt-gt-grandmother settled in the Chubut Valley in Argentina where a lot of our people went to preserve our language. Most of her brothers and sisters went to the States, but I can't trace them beyond the first generation in Pa, except one who died in Nevada. My gt-gt-grandmother's daughter went to Seskatchewan with her fourteen children, and from there they have spread all over, especially California and British Columbia, but some of them returning to 'Wales'/Cymru, one to become a successful artist. They are, of course, relatives not ancestors, but it's nice to have the connections. With the Argentinians I communicate only in 'Welsh'/Cymraeg and our very limited bits of Spanish/English respectively.

I have quite a few of mine. I don't have the documents right here with me to name them all, but mostly England, Wales, Ireland, and Germany. I love family history....

There are a lot of Welsh in the far south of Argentina and Chile, correct?

On my Dad's side, I have traced my direct paternal branch (surname) to England
Also four branches to Scotland, three to Ireland, two to France (Alsace), one to Denmark, one to Switzerland and six to Germany.

I can't trace my mom's side too far past the Caribbean, but I know her origins go to France, Canary Islands, and China.

There is some Native American - I dunno how much.

There are countless others on both sides who go back to Africa, more than any other ethnicity/race/nationality - I know this but can't prove because of slavery.

Along the Chubut river, mainly. The British Council sends out teachers to help with the language. Gaiman is the most Welsh place nowadays.
