I've wanted to make my own calendar that would show births, marriages, deaths or other events on the dates in question. So if I'm looking at any given month I see on one day where a set of ggp got married, the birthday of a 2ggf on another date, other events on their respective dates.

Anyone know of anything like that? Free or not.

Family Tree Maker by Ancestry has the calendar feature.

Legacy (free program) has a calendar option, but it only shows births and wedding anniversaries.

I just came across this free Genealogy Management program and it looks pretty good. Think I'll give it a try. Also looks like it has a feature which allows you to print out a report which shows dates of birth, marriage and death.

Default Calendar Creation Software

This might be worth trying out. Looks like it has a lot of options for creating a family calendar.

Calendar creation software, Fancy Calendar, calendar creation software

If you are researching people in Norway, nothing is more valuable than Digitalarkivet
There are censuses, church records, military rolls, etc...all for free. Or, rather, financed by the Norwegian taxpayer.

Not to mention there have been numerous: How do i start? threads.

I used to post them in these threads, but haven't had time.

There should be a sticky at the top of the forum of those threads and any new information. But apparently there is a lack of interest in doing something like that in this forum. The two stickies up at the top are kind of the same subject. They could be merged and a "How to Start" installed too.
