Looking for information on my Anderson side of the family. They lived in Sacred Heart, Minneapolis and are buried in the Ebenezer Lutheran cemetery. I was told that they were a Minister and his wife who were pastors of the "Swedish Ebenezer Lutheran" church back in the late 1890's early 1900's. I'am trying to find out what there names were. Is the Church still around and who would I contact for Information.

This may be the church:

Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren
1830 E 41st St
Minneapolis, MN 55407-3497
(612) 722-0157

Ebenezer Church / Ebenezer Is / Who We Are

Perhaps they have someone on staff or a church historian who could help.

Here is a lead on a cemetery, but I'd contact the church to narrow it down.

This is the 1910 info on Ebenezer Luthern (Swedish)

EBENEZER (SWEDISH)22d n w cor 28th av S
Rev O A Nelson, pastor, r 1310 Jefferson.

Chances are that he is living in a church-owned residence, so if you can find some Andersons there prior to Rev. Nelson, you are probably on to something.

I have found an A.J. Anderson, preacher, living in Sacred Heart, MN in 1900, with wife Rande and two children.

Have you seen this book, available to read on Google Books?
The history of Renville County ... - Google Books

By the way, there were two men called A.J. Anderson living at Sacred Heart during the same years, but only one was a preacher.

Okay, here is what I have found.

A.J. Anderson, preacher at Ebenezer Lutheran in Sacred Heart, MN in 1900 was born in New York.

Upon further research I believe that this same A.J. Anderson was the preacher listed at Swedish Emmanuel Church, Brooklyn, NY, in 1892. This church was located at Dean St and 5th Avenue.

Take a look...

Further research leads me to believe that the birthplace for A.J. being listed as New York was a mistake by the census taker. Later evidence indicates he was born in Norway. So, the New York one can be ignored. I followed that one's line and he ended up in Chicago, where he died in 1902.

Your A.J. Anderson, if indeed this is your ancestor, died before 1920 in Minnesota, where his wife Rande was still living, along with a number of other children.
