Has anyone had a grave marker replaced? Someone sent me a picture of my grandfather's, its quite worn. We took an insurance policy on the vault, does that include the marker, since we bought them from the same place? I have the receipts, even cancelled checks!

If you took a policy on the vault, sorry if this sounds silly, but check the policy and see what it covers. I've never heard of taking an insurance policy on a vault....I would imagine it would cover the marker, but who knows. Dig that policy up (no pun intended).

Actually, the insurance on the valut/casket was pretty standard at the time. The way it reads, if the headstone is cracked due to settling because the vault caved in, well, then, you can claim the vault and all"collateral" damage.
Well, the grave hasn't settled that much, this headstone hasn't cracked, just the letters wore off, some hairline cracks, etc
