So, here's the gist of this. My ancestor Joshua Parrish is pretty well documented from 1793 until his death in 1840. However, his early years and parentage are a mystery. Many people have erroneously copied his supposed parentage over and over again online, and I can say with 100% authority that there is no proof and they most likely are not his parents.
So now I am offering $200 to the first person who finds proof of his parentage OR proof he was an immigrant to the US. The details of his life are put together on this blog.
I did a tad of work on another Parrish line, so thought I would take a look see. I was going to suggest that he was related to the Parrish family that migrated from Frederick Co Md to Washinton Westfield NY then Otsego Co NY, but I see from your DNA page that you already knew that (DNA is fantastic). A Joshua Parrish is on the 1800 Otsego NY census, same age as yours btw (a cousin I assume). Have you ever seen the will for John Parrish that died around 16 Fed 1782 in Frederick Co Md? Jeremiah or Gilbert were administrators, Gilbert perhaps having a twin Prudence that married John Albaugh (they go to Ontario NY). I know it's a slim chance, but have all the NY Parrish's wills been searched. You are having the same trouble with your Parrish family that I'm having with several of my ancestors. It's tough when you can't find them named in a will or in a family bible. Hopefully something will surface before too long, good luck. Oh, and the webpage and reward is a great idea, luv it.
