I am looking for a birth of William Henry Startin B 1840 New York
I have been unable to find a birth in England for him and most censuses have him recorded as born New York . The 1841 England census has him born Birmingham, England 7 months old - From 1851 to 1901 always New York or America 1911 England!!!
His brother Charles b1839 Birmingham,
Father James Startin b1818
mother Ann Parker b 1819
Not been able to find them as passengers and it seems such a short period of time between the births of Charles and William for them to have travelled to and from America!!!
I would appreciate any help on this as I have been looking for 3 years now
This website states that someone knows where a William Henry Startin was buried but gives no details and no link to the info. It would be a possible source to contact, though.

hmm, not a common occupation that one would associate with world travel. Do you know what religion they were? If so, you might be able to find a baptism in a nearby church. If his siblings have baptisms and he doesn't there, it could be evidence that he was born elsewhere.
It is interesting that his brother is clearly identified in the Jan/Feb/Mar 1839 birth records. It is certainly possible they tried to immigrate (or went to the US for some other reason) and then came back in a short time. Just the fact that he is not easily identifiable in the birth records makes me think the US birth place is a possibility. Unfortunately the US doesn't have standardized birth records going back that far. Depending on the church, some will have baptismal records going back that far, but it is likely church by church to search.

I don't know what religion they were, and have not been able to find a baptism for either child. I did not realise that the US birth records would be too much different from the UK!!
I appreciate the efforts you have made for me.
