oh no. I was thinking no one even knew what a kewpie doll was anymore. Go team!!!!!!!!!!
Yah is that funny or what? The artist, Rose O'Neill, went to my high school of course. But it has to be like wearing a cabbage patch baby on a football jersey and some here probably don't even remember those.

She went to your high school! Well, that explains that. I guess those dolls were quite the rage in their day. (for me, it's now another bit of trivia for my family history and that's a good thing.)
For some reason, I may have missed this thread first time around, so here it is again.
I came across this photo amongst my mother's photos. It was probably some relation to my mother, but it is not marked and I have no idea who it is and no one I know of who might know. The photographer, M.D. Powell, lived in Dresden Tennessee and died in 1907. He likely also worked in western KY, because that was where my mother was from.

jiminnm, that is a wonderful photo, thanks for sharing.
TracySam, I googled about the bare feet and found this article on trying to date photos from that era: How to be a photo detective - Eastern Daily Press
The article indicates that after the 1890s bare feet showed up in children's photos.
Sometime soon, I may have some family photographs from the 1910-1920s era with children. It's been a long while since I have seen these photos. I will post one of the best sometime in the future.
Here are a few more. The first is Eva Dixon, my 2nd cousin 3x removed, in 1902-1903. The second is Lon Jones, my 1st cousin once removed, in 1900-1901. The 3rd is Mabel Williams, relation unknown, about 1927.
Very apropos, as I am now in the process of digitizing some old family photos!
