I don’t know, when I was a kid I had completely straight hair, then, from my late teens to my early 20s I had completely Afro soft, tight, naturally curly (Mike Brady, of the Brady Bunch) hair. And then by my 30s my hair straightened out again, and slowly became gray, and I never could dance very well.
No, I lived in England for 8 years and knew a woman who was entirely English (I helped do her family tree) and her skin was super pale and burned after 10 mins in the sun. She had kinky, almost "afro" like hair. I don't know why people have this idea that certain physical features like this are only found in or originated from one part of the world, but it's not really true.
I am of Northern European ancestry and my husband is of Southern European ancestry so for our children no, not in our case.
As a baby my youngest daughter had little blonde ringlets, fast forward to kindergarten through about 6th-7th grade wavy-curly. Age 13 through adulthood it is really curly and sometimes people do ask her if she is Puerto Rican or 'mixed'.
My hair is curly as is my husband's and our other children's hair as well, but nothing like hers.
Not necessarily. Europeans run the gamut in physical features. Fair, medium, dark complexion. Brown, hazel, green and blue eyes. Black, brown, blond and red hair (with all the shades in between). Plus all kinds of hair textures from straight to very curly.
Sub-Saharan African ancestry in genetic terms indicates recent Sub-Saharan African ancestry. It doesn't refer to the migration you are referring to there is evidence also that the population that migrated wasn't sub-Saharan and was a distinct genetic population that had split off quite a bit before that 50,000 year time frame you mention. I suspect though they weren't completely isolated being hunter gatherers and mobile.
No. I have curly/wavy thick hair. A black friend told me she never knew a white girl with hair like mine.
I'm 52% British isles, 44% Scandinavian, 2% Irish, and the rest smidges of Finnish and Asia minor.
