I have several relatives who retired to Arizona and died there. I haven't had any luck in locating obituaries for any of them. Anyone have a good website or other source to turn to?

Thanks.

Have you Googled their full name with the word obituary?

Lots of newspapers have obits online these days, especially for the past several years. Some of them are archived online and available indefinitely.

I've tried that, but these would be older listings. I'm looking for one from circa 1990 and another from 1977. I've had no luck with Google.

Not surprising that far back.

Maybe contact the local paper or library then. I've had a library mail me copies of obits from the local papers from the early 1900s to late 1800s, so look into who might have the records locally.

I have a membership to genealogybank.com, and I'm willing to share the wealth. If you DM me the names and approximate death dates, I can look them up for you. Of if there seems to be a lot, you'll at least be able to decide if joining yourself is worth it.
Here are all the Arizona newspapers they say they have.

PMd you back with the lack of hits.

I checked the date ranges for the Phoenix-area newspapers they have, and it's 3 small Phoenix papers 2008-current, and 2 Phoenix papers 1896-1901. Your people didn't make either of those tiny windows to get onto Genealogybank. But never fear, they say the are adding new archives every day and over 2 million new records just added! Right, that's how they got me to pay for another stinkin' year.

This site is free, with some obscure out of print newspapers across the country. I've found it to be hit-and-miss. Newspapers by State - Historical Newspapers Online - Guides at Penn Libraries
