That's great. I don't think I get that channel but I used to like that program and it shows that there is enough interest in genealogy to support the program. Thanks for the heads up.

Yaaaaay!!!!

Even though it gets kind of 'cheesy' at times, I really look forward to watching. Thanks so much for the heads up!!!

My wife always said they are doing that show wrong. These well known people can afford to hire somebody to check their geneology. This show should get somebody off the street and take them to all these places to trace their family tree

Other people have said that and I agree too. These people who make tv shows always seem to think that we want to know about celebrities. If they don't have celebrities, no one will watch. Wrong. It would be more interesting if they just found ordinary people working at ordinary jobs and then found out who they really were and where they really came from. A waitress might descend from royalty, an architect might have an artist somewhere in his background--or who knows what?

A lot more of us could relate to something like that than could relate to celebrities. They could showcase a much wider variety of people that way too, from the truck driver to the teacher to the doctor to the politician and so on. Celebrities are only known because they are....celebrities. They sing or act or dance or talk on tv or in the movies. They are so much alike. Spice it up a bit! Show a regular cross section of real people.

I also think they should do that too but probably could not get sponsoring from advertisers if they do that . But I would like to see that .

Even I feel that way to some extent.

BUT -- would you be comfortable with showing private information? Your name, and your grandparents names and back and back.... My name is pretty rare, and I'm a more than a little gunshy about exposing myself. If an episode of the show was offered to me, I would have to think long and hard AND ask my sisters. Boy I would want to jump at the chance on one hand..... but on the other... I'm not sure if I would...

I've only seen the show once on youtube. However, I notice it's all good stuff. "This is your grandfather who died in WII". Not "Here is your grandfather. He died in jail for rape". Not to say they're all hiding something. I have a feeling it was an average Joe type show, they'd probably show all your embarrassing relatives.
