For British ancestors. I got my start back around 1998 on Genuki, which is a treasure trove of information and has mailing lists for particular locations. The lists are nowhere near as active as they used to be, thanks to Ancestry probably, but there are still great people who are wiling to do lookups for you or even take photos if they live nearby. The background information they can provide will often solve mysteries.
