There is a Fred S. Lewis in the 1934 Yakima directory. He was the assistant manager of a hotel.

In 1940, a Fred S. Lewis is listed in the census as married with two step-children. Wife's name was Eva. Step-children were listed with the last name Hoff. Fred's birthdate is recorded as ~1898.

In the 1930 census, a Fred S. Lewis was a boarder in the Stean household. Father listed as born in Illinois. Mother listed as born in West Virginia.

I suggest using the Family Search website to dig for more information. It's free. Good luck.

Father- Henry B Lewis born Illnois abt. 1857 to parents from Wales.
Mother-Carrie M Dewey born West Virginia to George Dewey & Emma Roman__(this from Carrie death cert). Carrie died 1938 Yakima, buried Bellingham.
(Henry & Carrie married 1884 acc census.; divorced by 1930 census)

Fred was farming in Dawson County, Montana for the WW1 draft @ Crow Rock. He had brown hair & brown eyes.
By 1940 he was 42 married to Mrs Eva Margaret (Cousineau) Hoff 39. She had at least two sons from Hoff marriage. He was high school graduate & a clerk.

I am confused by Katie Kathleen Hale. But I found much on Lappins.

I should clarify, I can see who Katie Hale's parents likely were. A Lappin daughter married several times--once to a Hale. Why do know Lappun was grandfather?

OP hasn't come back. Maybe we should shut down the free research service until she offers an acknowledgement?

I'm all for helping people. It's just that she's vanished. Maybe she's no longer interested?

Or doesn't know how to get back in here since they are new. This thread could have been moved from where the OP originally posted it. Thanks for trying to help. Now let's just see if they ever find the info.
