White Americans had strict segregation laws, and their people followed them. Whites are the least admixed in the New World in the USA compared to Latin Americas and African Americans.

"With respect to European Americans, the percentages are much more different than African Americans or Latinos, with European American genomes being 98.6 percent European, 0.19 percent African and 0.18 percent Native American. In general, the numbers seem to agree with what one would expect given the history of American colonization by Europeans and their interactions with African and Native Americans."

it seems there should be more people that claim being part African from the slavery / plantation days?

it seems like there are a lot more people claiming native american ancestory? even the most miniscule amounts, and often untraceable, mostly just from old stories about an Indian princess in the family.

it's completely the opposite for claiming African ancestory, I heard many people that claim to be part native american are actually part black?

but claiming to be part NA / or from a warrior tribe is more acceptable or more PC

I think people like to claim whatever feels more desirable or in their favor.
Native American and African Americans were both bought and sold as property but in my family a white guy ended up with a native american woman long after slavery ended,
