I already know you have to upgrade your account to see documents originating in the UK, but do you have to upgrade to see DNA matches in the UK as well?

I have 895 2nd to 4th cousins or closer (and hundreds of 5th-8th cousins), but none seem to be located in the UK or Ireland (or in Romania or Serbia).

My DNA results were 38% Ireland, 10% Great Britain and a surprise 5% Scandinavian (the other 43% being Eastern European mixture).

I have the highest level subscription of Ancestry right now, and get nothing from the UK.

Ancestry.com only recently began selling kits outside the US:

AncestryDNA Now Offered in 29 New Countries

Those 29 countries are in addition to the countries where AncestryDNA was already available: United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia/New Zealand, and Canada.

If you do not have international matches, it probably means none of your relatives in those countries have tested yet.

Thanks, that would explain a lot.

I also discovered that you can only link your DNA results to one family tree.

No, all the DNA tests are on the same database. The subscriptions only influence your access to the records database.

Here's the help article that outlines AncestryDNA with or without a subscription - note that even without a subscription, you still have access to all DNA matches.

Okay.

I upgraded my account anyway.

I have only a US account (no international subscription) and I have DNA matches in the UK, Canada, and other countries.
