Grandfather's sister = your mother or father's aunt = your great aunt

I'd need draw a picture to deduce your cousin-ship. Here's chart.

David is correct. Here is a calculator Cousin Calculator, Relationship Chart & Relationship Terms. Calculate the relationship between 2 people who share a common ancestor.. Your common relative is your 2nd great grandparent and her 3rd great grandparent.

My grown kids laugh at me using that term "once removed "

I always tell them that for cousins ( 1st, 2nd, 3rd. etc) you have to be on the same generation level when comparing.

My father married late in life so I was 1st cousins with older people .
The cousins my age were not 1st cousins with me.
Their dad or mom was.

I was " 1st cousin once removed"

It is not unusual, especially in large families, to have ages not comparable to generations. My grandfather's first sister was born in 1892 and his last sister was born in 1908. My great great grandfather was married 3 times (wives died) so he had children born from 1863-1883.
