on ancestry, how do you edit your tree, like to combine the multi entry of the same person?

Off to the top right there’s a drop down. Hit merge. Select your people. Done.

Open one of the person's profile's, in the upper right there is an option for "Tools" and clicking on it will show a drop down menu. One of the options is "Merge Duplicates". Select that and then you'll have the option to select the second person you want to merge. Additionally, one of the options is "show research tools" - if you click on that, the "Merge Duplicates" option will be shown on the person's profile under their vital details so you don't have to click on "tools" anymore.
