I am looking for descendants of my great uncle and aunt, GEORGE and KATE (CATHERINE) HARDING/HARDEN/HARDIN. Catherine's maiden name was CAYER. She was born in Chicago, 1897, and died in Buena Park, Orange (County), California, 1976. I would appreciate any help.

This may be Catherine and her husband from Find-A-Grave
George C. Harding 1892-1978
Catherine M. Harding 1897-1976
Their obituaries can give you names of their kids.
You must be a descendant of one of George or Catherine's sibling?
Which of her siblings are known and not known to you?

You may have already come across it but using the information that Howard found, I did a search on Ancestry and discovered that there is a family tree on Ancestry George C. Harding and Catherine (Cayer) Harding. According to that tree, George C. Harding and Catherine (Cayer) Harding lived in Buena Park so it would seem to fit your relatives. The tree also lists six children for them as follows:
David A.
Richard
Loretta
Diane Marie
And two other children listed as "private" - often that means those people are still alive.
While personal family trees on Ancestry always need confirmation from other sources, if you haven't already done so, you could try contacting the owner of that tree and seeing what additional information they may be willing to share with you about this family. Since it appears from the tree that they do not have information about either George or Catherine's parents, if you have that, perhaps you can offer something to them as well.
Rosie:
Using the 1930 census I found the kids to be:
George age 13
Lucille age 11
Dave age 9
Catherine age 6
Richard age 4
Loretta age 2
On the 1940 Census, we also find the kids living at home listed as:
David A. 19
Catherine L. 16
Richard W. 14
Loretta J. 12
Earl W. 7
So, we know they didn't move to California until after 1940.
On Ancestry (and I suspect FamilySearch) the family's name on the 1940 Census is transcribed as Hardingh with an H. But looking at the actual hand written Census it is spelled Harding (no H)
That conforms with both the headstone and George's social security death record.
I did see that there is a death record for ANOTHER George Harding in California, with a birth date in the 1900s. Let me go check that one out.
Also, just a note: David A's Illinois birth record (on Ancestry) shows his middle name as Antony which might be helpful in tracking down his descendents.
There is a marriage license for a George C. Harding and Catherine Veronica Cayer in Indiana:
Name: George C Harding
Gender: Male
Event Type: Marriage Registration (Marriage)
Marriage Licence Date: 31 Mar 1915
Marriage Licence Place: Indiana, United States
Spouse: Catherine Veronica Cayer
Page: 80
FHL Film Number: 002414693
However, note the date of the marriage on the license - 1915.
The 1920 Census shows George, age 13, Lucille, age 11, David age 9. So, if that marriage certificate is for the right couple, that would probably mean that this was a second marriage for George C. Harding, the father.
However, that is assuming that this is the right couple. It could just be another couple.
I will continue looking around later if I have time.
But, we have leads on the names of the children from the Census records, so that may make it pretty straightforward to track down more information on them.
(Earlier I mentioned that there was a Family Tree on Ancestry that appears to include that couple. I notice that there are other trees that include them as well, although it is not 100% clear to me that they are all talking about the *same* George Harding and Catherine Cayer from Illinois, as some of the information on the trees conflicts. I would suggest we only use primary sources for now, rather than family trees. It does appear that there may have been more than one George Harding in Illinois, but so far only ONE has turned up married to Catherine in Buena Park CA.)

Flying Wing,
Do you have any information on the parents of George C. Harding and Catherine Cayer Harding?
How about a middle name for Catherine or George?
As Howard asked earlier, how about the names of any known siblings for either Catherine or George?
