Hello CDers!

I'm trying to trace my great-greats, and my husband's, back to Europe. Almost every person in our direct lines immigrated to America just before WW1. The single most helpful source of information has been the WWI draft card, and Fold3 has a searchable (and free!) database. You can see their current address, place of birth, citizenship status, profession, and marital status.

Just thought I'd share.

For anyone else searching Europe, there are FB groups for Hungarian genealogy, I also believe Polish and German and Russian that I've seen.

For anyone that's done DNA, upload to GEDmatch there are FB groups for DNA too that have a tool that will match your GEDmatch number to people in the groups.
