Me and my parents were born in Turkey but we are ethnically Italian. I have been in USA for a while and if I become a citizen, would I count as European-American?

Seems to me you've been here before and asked this before. Am I correct? If so, I can't figure out why it's such an important issue.

I too think OP has asked this before and they could consider themselves a European-American.

When do you plan to become a citizen? Are you over 18? Have your parents became citizens of the US? I believe if parents do when kids are minors that the kids are automatically American citizens.

I ask when do you plan to because you see people that are getting sent back to their country of origin for certain crimes, such as having a motor vehicle accident with someone dying. I wouldn't wait to do it if you qualify to do it.

Why are you obsessed with what you'll be? Although you were born to Italian parents, technically, you're a Turkish citizen because you were born there. You also speak Turkish. Do you speak Italian too?

Edit said people aren't getting sent back to their countries, I meant are

You keep asking essentially the same question in different ways. Why are you so obsessed with who can call themselves "American" and why won't you accept the dozens of responses you already got in other topics?

It's really pretty simple - if you're an American citizen, you're American. It doesn't matter if you were born in Europe, it doesn't matter if you have an accent, it doesn't matter if English isn't your first language.

If you want to call yourself European-American once you become a citizen, sure, go ahead. You can also call yourself just American. You can also call yourself Turkish-American, or Turkish-American with Italian ancestry. All of those things would be accurate, once you become a citizen. For now, you're a Turkish citizen with Italian ancestry who currently resides in the US.

I am not qualified yet.

I can speak in Turkish but not in Italian.

Part of Turkey is in Europe.
But why is it important to have a hyphenated label of ethnicity?

Well I guess that's why you keep asking the same thing but in different ways. How much longer do you have on your green card before you can apply?

I edited my post, people that aren't citizens are being sent back to their country of origin for crimes and things like car accidents, so you want to make sure you do it ASAP if you want to stay here.

Asked and answered.

Pro Tip: The posters answering you today are the ones who responded to you before, and will be the ones who answer the next time. Asking the same people the same question is going to get you the same answer.

Depends...
Are you from the "European side" of Turkey, or the "Asian side" of Turkey?

That's how I'd answer it. Or, I'd just check 'em all.
